Amiata Piano Festival 2012
Twelve great chamber concerts from July to September in Cinigiano
Eighth edition! Great novelties characterize this new edition of the Amiata Piano Festival. The event is more and more of hailed prestige and is one of the international musical appointments absolutely not to lose.
There will be three tranches of concerts, conceived by the artistic director Maurizio Baglini: Baccus, Euterpe and the by now consolidated Dionisus.
Between July, August and the beginning of September, the public of music lovers from all over the world can assist to twelve great chamber concerts, in the usual locations of the Festival, the Sala Musica, at the Podere San Giuseppe, the Church of Montecucco and the wine cellar of Collemassari.
The landscape scenery of rare beauty, which characterizes this event, is still that of a less known Tuscany, authentic and, under some aspects, still to discover, in full and perfect harmony in the relationship man - nature. Out of the chaos of the tourism of mass, in a unique enological context, the beautiful hills of Poggi del Sasso, Cinigiano, in the province of Grosseto, are always able to give to the public and to whom approaches to these places for the first time a nice stay and an unforgettable experience. Extraordinary suggestions, unexpected views and the divine music of the Amiata Piano Festival make this landscape to a wonderfull place.
Twelve concerts and twelve events of artists of international fame, real stars of the music. The following artists honor the Amiata Piano Festival with their first participation: Danilo Rea, Andrew Lucchesini, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, Massimo Quarta, Giovanni Bellucci, Monica Bacelli, Dmitri Siktovetsky, Enrico Pace, Konstantin Lifschitz, Luisa Prayer, the Choir and the Soloists of Lyon - Bernard Tetu. An important space is reserved to a duo - violin and piano - of young but already affirmed artists on the stages all over the world: Alexander Siktovetsky, younger cousin of the dean Dmitri, and Wu Qian. On great demand and after the extraordinary success of last year the following artists return: Marco Rogliano, Wolfram Schmitt Leonardy, the Quartet Rodin, and, obviously, the resident artists Silvia Chiesa and Maurizio Baglini (artistic director and founder of the festival in 2005).
