One of the most attractive features at Agriturismo Le Caggiole is Food: mamma Ornella spends much of her time cooking. Inspired by her great passion and her undeniable ability, she prepares delightful dishes for her guests, who can taste the traditional flavours of the Tuscan cooking art. The lessons at the Cooking School by mamma Ornella are an unfergettable experience: in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere guests are taught how to prepare simple and quick meals that can be prepared every day at home.
Breakfast: In wintertime breakfast is served in the large dining room, with the sweet aroma of fresh coffee and cakes prepared by mamma Ornella. In summertime breakfast is served on the lovely terrace, enjoying the birds singing from the ancient holm-oak trees. (Continental Breakfast).
Dinners: Delicious dinners prepared according to the best Tuscan tradition by mamma Ornella, who – with her magic touch - transforms the simple products of the farm into delightful dishes. Hand-made pasta, Chianina meat (the farm is located in a region of traditional cattle rearing activities), game, and for vegetarians lots of fresh and cooked vegetables.

The Cooking School by “Mamma Ornella” is inspired by the great passion of the Martinelli Family for cooking and for traditional flavours. They offer courses at different levels: from basic to specialization courses for all those who want to learn the secrets of cooking, but also for those who want to spend three pleasant hours in a nice and friendly atmosphere. During the lessons guests will be taught cooking methods, but they will be also allowed to exchange experiences, comments, and questions. At the end of the lesson they will taste the food they have prepared. Courses can vary from a minimum commitment of a just one lesson, to a whole week of full immersion where each day is devoted to starters, first courses, second courses, side-dishes, dessert.

In the estate there are 1200 olive trees that produce around 12000kg of olives every year. The olives are pressed in local traditional mills to obtain the precious Extra-virgin Olive Oil IGP, available for tasting and purchase directly at the farm. Moreover, the estate consists of 1.5hectares of vineyards where the Martinellis produce the famous “Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG”. They also produce plums (100 trees), cherries (5 trees), peaches (5 trees), walnuts (10 trees), saffron, and vegetables from the family orchard. Man’s hard work in the fields and nature’s generosity produce wonderful fruits that mamma Ornella transforms into fine-quality fruit jams, available for tasting and purchase directly at the farm shop.
18 beehives, finally, produce a delicious and healthy Honey, available for tasting and purchase directly at the farm.
Guided Tours of the Producing Farm: For those who are willing to discover the farm, guided tours are led by Giacomo, an expert of agricultural history and technique. Guests will discover the philosophy of farming and the agricultural techniques that are compatible with environment.
