A recently renovated early 18th Century olive farm house with barn, situated on a sunny hillside in Gello di Palaia in the province of Pisa.
The farm sits in 31 hectares of woods and olive groves which enjoys a mild climate, and is just a few kilometres from the sea.
Countryside walks or mountain bike rides are a pleasant pass-time in the Podere estate. Where wild boars, hares, deer, foxes and pheasant are frequent visitors.
A short distance away it is possible to visit many historic towns and arts.

THE ESTATE
Producers of extra virgin olive oil, we have dedicated our time to saving the abandoned olive groves, planting new trees and using modern techniques for cultivation.
A true olive grove: alongside the typical Tuscan olives we have planted olive trees which are close to extinction in this area and a vast variety from other Italian and foreign regions.

FACILITIES
For those staying at “Podere la casa” there is the choice of long relaxing walks or excursions on mountain bikes to discover the typical flora and fauna .
Beautiful art cities: such as Florence, Siena, Volterra and San Gimignano are only a few miles away.

Reaching Podere la Casa

By Car
- From Rome : A1 Rome-Milano motorway exit at Firenze Scandicci. Take the S.G.C. FI-PI-LI to Montopoli Val D’Arno. At roundabout follow signs to Palaia, pass centre then on to Gello. Once at Gello after 800m you will pass a church, then take first downhill road on right. Further 200m and you have arrived.
- From Milano: A1 motorway, before Parma follow signs to Livorno , then take the A12 ( direction Livorno ) motorway exit Pisa (centre airport) take the S.G.C. FI-PI-LI towards Firenze. Take the second exit for Pontedera and follow signs to Palaia. Pass through the town of Forcoli, at Montanelli follow signs to Gello-Palaia. Continue through Partino and before entering Palaia, follow the signs to Gello. Once at Gello after 800m pass the church, then take first downhill road on right. A further 200m and you have arrived.

By Train
Arrival at Pisa or Florence take train to Pontedera and from there taxi or bus .

By Plane
From Pisa airport “Galileo Galilei”, take a direct train to Pontedera,from there taxi or bus.
From Florence airport “Vespucci” bus to SMNovella train station, catch train to Pontedera.
