An 18th century Bishop’s House.
The villa was originally built in 1718, next to a medieval inn, when Colombino Bassi, Bishop of Pistoia and Prato, decided to set a country home for his summer retreat and to rest during his visits to the area’s parishes (for those who can understand Latin this is testified by a stone engrave in the living-room).
Such a strong historic context, coupled with the proximity to the Reno river, makes of Villa “Le Panche” a charming destination.
The extensive outdoor garden, shaded by apple and maple trees, leads to the river bank where, after the sunset, our lucky guests will be able to watch several local wild animals like deers, boars and night owls…
The “Bishop’s House” has been completely restructured maintaining the characteristic elements of the original building such as the grey sandstone rock (“pietra serena”) entouring the windows.

Ground floor
At ground floor, besides the entrance, there is a spacious kitchen, a 16 place dining room and a large living-room separated by a very unconventional fireplace).
First floor
From the entrance, old stairs made of “pietra serena” lead to the first floor where a studio and three bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, are located.
Mansard
Another stairs will conduct our guests to the Mansard rooftop where two more bedrooms with private bathrooms are situated as well as a wide lounge provided of a pool table.

At the entrance level, guests will find access to the gym, completed by a 4 place sauna and a maxi jacuzzi (7 places) as well as changing rooms for the outdoor pool use.

Reaching Villa le Panche

Villa Le Panche is located in a very green area, at a distance of 35 minutes by car from Florence and just 15 minutes from downtown Pistoia.
For those who are interested in visiting Tuscany's art cities or the beaches of Versilia, Pistoia stands in a central position and is very well connected via highway and railway with all potential destinations.

BY CAR:
From Pistoia: Our properties are located about 15 kms North of Pistoia. After Pistoia motorway exit turn on the left in direction of Modena and continue on the S.R. 66 (Via Modenese). After approximately 15 Km, passed the village of "Le Piastre", continue on the right and go on along the Reno river for approximately 4 Km. At Km 54 (the mileage is marked in a very clear way every 100 meters) you will find our very easily recognizable property of "Le Panche".
From Florence Airport: the trip takes approximately 35 minutes. Take the motorway (autostrada) A11 in direction of "Pisa Nord". Exit at "Pistoia" then follow the above indications.
From Pisa Airport: the trip takes approximately 1 hour. From the airport follow the indications to the motorway A12. Take the motorway A12 in direction of "Pisa Nord" then take the motorway A11 in direction of "Firenze" (Florence). Exit at "Pistoia" then follow the above indications.
From Bologna Airport: the trip takes approximately 1h 30min. Take the motorway A1 in direction of "Firenze" (Florence). Exit at "Sasso Marconi", then take the SS64 in direction of "Pistoia". After the town of Porretta Terme, turn right into the S.S. 632 in direction of Pracchia. 4 km further, turn left at a crossroads in the village of Pontepetri, in direction of Pistoia. Our property of "Le Panche", very easily recognizable, is less than 1 km far from Pontepetri.

BY TRAIN:
Pistoia is reachable by train from Florence (train line "Firenze - Viareggio") in about 40 minutes.
There is a train station in Pisa airport with a shuttle service to Pisa central station. From Pisa central station there are few direct trains to Pistoia every day. Otherwise change in Lucca (train line "Firenze - Viareggio") or Florence.
If you come from Bologna, then the closest station to our properties (only 4 km) is that of Pracchia, on the Bologna - Pistoia train line (approximately 1 hour 30 minutes from Bologna Central Station).

BY BUS:
From Pistoia railway station there is a bus every hour (bus line nr. "54" Pistoia - San Marcello Pistoiese) serving our properties.
