A pure and simple environment, warmth and the very best we can do to make your holiday as relaxing and interesting as possible. We've been running an organic farm since 1992: we were the first in this area and at the beginning everyone thought we were a little bit too idealistic, but we've continued doing what we believe in up to today, when "organic" has become all the rage and everybody claims to be into it. And our sense of hospitality is just the same: we don't want to be a hotel in the country, but to give our guests a chance to experience, as far as is still possible, family cozyness and the rhythm of the countryside.
We're situated in the very heart of the Chianti area, between the beautiful city of Siena and the famous medieval fortress of Monteriggioni. As everyone knows, our hillsides are one of a kind in the world and our countryside is breathtaking. If you want to visit the marvelous artistic centers in the area, ours is a strategic position: in 10 minutes you can reach Siena, in a quarter of an hour Monteriggioni, Castellina in Chianti and Colle val d’Elsa. San Gimignano, Asciano, San Galgano and Volterra are only half an hour away and Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Florence and Arezzo just an hour's drive from here.  

Your lodging, whatever you choose, is situated on a lovely hillside surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, caressed by summer breezes at sundown.
Ours style is country, both in the furniture and in the materials used in restoration; we don’t have air conditioning because the thickness of the old walls creates a pleasantly cool temperature even during the hottest months; all windows have screens; the bathrooms are large and all have windows; the suites and the apartments have a fireplace, which creates a unique atmosphere…
Each living area has its own entrance, either immediately in front or a few meters away in the garden, as well as a patio with table and chairs to read, eat or simply enjoy the countryside.

We've created lots of "mini-spaces" in our large garden with chairs, lounge chairs and tables, where everyone can create his or her own little corner to relax surrounded by the perfume of roses and aromatic plants and enjoy our silence and beautiful panorama... During the warm season our sheltered, panoramic pool area rounds out the atmosphere.
Near the pool there is also a large gazebo, where you can find the wood-burning oven and barbecue with tables and benches and a small laundry , services available to all our guests without charge


And to finish off, you can make your holiday really complete by relaxing and regenerating your body in our "well-being nest".

Our programs are thought out with those of you in mind who wish to combine the well-being our romantic medieval towns and green hillsides work out on your soul with a synergy of bodily pleasure and care.....

In our Farmhouse you can do a lot of things: relax, rest, enjoy the landscape, paint, read, make photos… or you can attend the weekly activities we organize. Maybe you expect something unusual from your holiday here, like having experience related to our territory, our tradition and local culture. So we have thought letting you try our best specialisms! We hope to leave you something unique and authentic you can keep into your best memories’ book.

The "Wellness nest"
The “Wellness nest” it’s not an area with sauna, steam baths and pools (if that’s what you’re looking for, we can tell you where to find the nearby spa…) but a small oasis where we “take you over” and we do our best to help you forget everyday stress and fatigue and get back to your life fully regenerated, to make your holiday here perfect.
We offer relatively few, simple treatments, but we pay attention to every detail and aim at the highest results; usually the treatments include a serving of herbal infusion and a “recovery” period, to increase the effectiveness and guarantee maximum relaxation.
Our products are all natural, many of them made with ingredients from our own farm, some of them extracted right on the spot.

HAND MADE PASTA’S  COURSE
You are all invited to improve the “sophisticate art” of making pici - our typical hand made pasta – or tagliatelle, ravioli, or what we would like to try at the moment.
You will learn to prepare the dough, to knead it and to create different shapes that in a few minutes of cooking will became a delicious dish. Usually then we prepare an easy gravy and we eat all together!

PAINTING LESSONS
How many of us have had the temptation to paint a landscape, a flower, a picture, but have never tried?
In our farmhouse there’s no lack of views or flowers or – maybe even more important - someone who can helps us to get started, giving us a chance to have fun, too ....
A really special experience, with our friend Grazia, who will provide the materials together with her own enthusiasm and know-how.

TENNIS LESSONS
Our instructor will be happy to spend some fun sports time with you in a lovely sports center set right in the heart of the Chianti hills, in the nearby village of Quercegrossa. No racquet? No problem: we'll lend you ours. Ready, play!

TUESDAY TOUR
Every Tuesday afternoon we offer you, free of cost, a guide who will show you Siena with its narrow lanes and its art. You'll breathe that unforgettable atmosphere with its taste of history and tradition -  a tradition so strongly rooted as to make Siena an absolutely unique city. Don't miss it!

HOT-AIR BALLOON FLIGHT
You have to make a reservation very early but it’s really a fantastic experience. You have to wake up very early in the morning and help Massimiliano in assembling the basket and in taking off the balloon right from our Farmhouse!
Time: The flight is about 50 minutes long and we decide together the day.
We suggest: For the ones who wants to try an original experience and fly over the one of the most splendid valleys of the world… a different point of view for observe the Chianti’s landscape!

VINTAGE  (Seasonal – September/October)
For participate at our vintage you must be very lucky because you must be on holiday in autumn and in the right period: the vintage is only few days long and we never know exactly the starting day. Take part of this experience is really funny: we harvest grapes, we chat, we joke and we laugh a lot. Usually all our family participate! If you would like to help us one morning we can offer you the “agricultural lunch” and we assure you an unforgettable afternoon nap…

OLIVE HARVESTING(Seasonal – October/November/December)
We need your help! You are never enough, the olives are so much and they are all hand-harvested… sometimes the olive trees seem never finishing. But it isn’t only an hard work. It’s wonderful think that in a few days these olives will be up to a dish of pasta or a hot bruschetta (toasted Tuscan bread)…
Note: The olive pickers are compensated by oil not by money… it’s our tradition. Each 100 kg of olive harvested you can earn 7 kg of oil!
We suggest: If you have arms for work and heart for feel it’s an exciting effort.

Reaching Agriturismo Antico Uliveto

Coming by car from the north, exit from the A1 at the "Firenze Certosa" exit and follow the directions indicating SIENA. Exit the "Siena-Firenze" highway at the "Badesse" exit.Turn left, following the directions for Lornano. After passing the village, continue for approx. 3 km. and turn right at the first intersection (following the signs for "Quercegrossa"); continue until you find a dirt road on the right leading uphill, with the sign "Agriturismo Antico Uliveto". Follow the signs and turn right at the inn "La Magione". Another 200 mt. and you're there.

Coming by car from the south, exit from the A1 at the "Valdichiana" exit and follow the signs for SIENA. Follow the highway towards Siena for approx. 30 km, then enter the "tangenziale" for Siena, following the signs toward Florence (Firenze).After about 10 km on the "Siena tangenziale" going in the direction of Firenze, exit at the "BADESSE" exit.Turn right following the directions for Lornano. After passing the village, continue for approx. 3 km. and turn right at the first intersection (following the signs for "Quercegrossa"); continue until you find a dirt road on the right leading uphill, with the sign "Agriturismo Antico Uliveto". Follow the signs and turn right at the inn "La Magione". Another 200 mt. and you're there.

If you have a satellite navigating system we advise you not to use it to get to our Agriturismo: those guests who have already tried it have had a very hard time getting here, on almost impassable roads. We advise you to follow our instructions to the letter and you can't go wrong.

Thanks its central position in the heart of Tuscany the ANTICO ULIVETO is an ideal starting point for those guests who want to discover the most beautiful and evocative places this region has to offer.
Around us are located the most important cities and provinces of the arts, such as Siena, Firenze, Lucca, Arezzo and Cortona, Pisa, Pistoia with their piazzas, streets, museums, by this time universally well-knowns.

Un ambiente semplice e genuino, cordialità e impegno per farvi passare le vostre vacanze in modo più rilassante e interessante possibile. La nostra è un’azienda biologica dal 1992 : siamo stati i primi in zona e all’epoca tutti ci consideravano un po’ troppo idealisti, ma abbiamo proseguito sulla strada in cui credevamo fino ad oggi, dove il biologico è diventato “di moda “ e tutti lo professano. Lo stesso concetto lo applichiamo all’ospitalità: non vogliamo essere un albergo in campagna ma dare ai nostri ospiti la possibilità di assaggiare, per quanto ancora possibile , accoglienza familiare e ritmi campagnoli .

La nostra bellissima posizione e la genuinità del nostro cibo , ci rendono una interessante struttura dove organizzare matrimoni: senz’altro è una cornice semplice ma molto allegra e romantica. . La capienza abbastanza contenuta ( 30-40 persone ) garantisce un servizio veramente attento , curato e …..gustoso!

Ours is a small farmhouse, so you'll always find lots of peace and quiet, as well as lots of attention to your needs. The reception is open in the morning and the afternoon, to help and advise you in planning your day. We have both rooms and apartments, so as to offer you the arrangement that best suits your needs. Our morning buffet is made up of sweets, biscuits, fruit cocktail, yogurt, butter and fruit preserves; the other meals are built around traditional Tuscan recipes, made especially tasty by our fresh garden produce, and almost always served with our homemade bread and our own wine...

And to finish off, you can make your holiday really complete by relaxing and regenerating your body in our "well-being nest".

Our philosophy about this is: no fancy-sounding names or frilly treatments but lots and lots of real quality..
Starting with the products we use: they’re obtained from the raw materials we cultivate here on our farm, completely organic …. wine, olive oil, honey, yogurt, fruit, medicinal plants…
A few words about the properties of these products:
Wine , rich in tannin and bioflavonoids, tones muscles, protects capillaries and stimulates the immune system; honey has emollient, softening and antibacterial properties; olive oil contains squalenes, phytosterols and carotenoids, giving it moisturizing, elasticizing and antioxidant action… which means anti-aging; yogurt, rich in active ferments and lactic acid, moisturizes, tones and restores the proper balance to the microorganisms in the skin.
We offer relatively few, simple treatments, but we pay attention to every detail and aim at the highest results; usually the treatments include a serving of herbal tea and a “recovery” period, to increase the effectiveness and guarantee maximum relaxation.

GARDEN STROLLS
Daniela will show you through her magnificent garden and dazzling rose-garden (more than 170 different species of roses); you can pepper her with questions and she'll be happy to respond with precious gardening tips galore.

THE OLD FARMHOUSE
Granny Lorena will take you to see the vegetable garden and feed the animals! You can pick your own fresh vegetables and watch the rabbits and chickens …. Who knows, the hens might have just laid a fresh egg at this very moment!!

VISIT TO THE CHEESE FACTORY
If you'd like, we can arrange a visit to the cheese factory that's just a stone's throw from where we are. Sara and Franco will be glad to introduce you to the sights and smells of their work: you can see the milking and watch them make cheese and ricotta cheese! TRUFFLE HUNTING
With the precious collaboration of Mauro and Rino we go to the nearest woods, in secret places, and we unleash our dogs that are launched in an exciting truffle hunting. Isn’t easy to find truffles, but the experience is really electrifying!
